Fantasy Artist Boris Vallejo
Boris Vallejo is perhaps the best known fantasy painter working today. He was born January 8, 1941 in Lima, Peru. His paintings have graced the covers of dozens of science fiction paperbacks, including Robert Heinlein's last novel To Sail Beyond the Sunset. His paintings are also featured in a series of best-selling calendars. Some of his male figures were modeled by Vallejo himself, and many of his later female characters were modeled by his wife.

Howard David Johnson is a contemporary fantasy artist with a background in the natural sciences and history. He works in a wide variety of media ranging from traditional oils, pastels, and others to cutting edge digital media.


 
Alan Gutierrez
Alan Gutierrez is a well-known cover artist who has done countless book and game covers. He art ranges from fantasy to science fiction to anime. He has illustrated books for Isaac Asimov, Robert Silverberg, Gordon Dickson, and Greg Bear. Gutierrez has been seen on the covers of many magazines, such as Popular Mechanics, Final Frontier, and Analog, and has also illustrated spacecraft concepts for NASA.


 
Luis Royo
Luis Royo is a Spanish artist, known for his darkly sensual paintings. He was born in 1954 in Olalla, Spain. He has produced many paintings for his own books and exhibitions, and has also produced art for various other media: videogames, CD album covers, comic book covers, and Tarot cards. He is most famous for his work doing illustrations of Julie Strain for the animated movie Heavy Metal.


 
Alex Horley
Alex Horley-Orlandelli is an Italian illustrator who does work both in Italy and the United States. Horley is known for fantasy art, science fiction, horror paintings, and comic book art. He has worked on projects for Heavy Metal, Kaos Comics, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics, as well as the Harry Potter Collectible Card Games


 
Michael Parkes
Michael Parkes is an American-born artist specializing in fantasy painting, stone lithography and sculpture. Parkes' work is widely available in the form of popular poster prints in many print shops, and nine books of his artwork have been published.


 
Marcel LorAnge
Marcel LorAnge is a Canadian artist from Montreal. His creations fall between categories such as surrealism and symbolism. He is often labeled as a fantasy artist. "My paintings create me!" LorAnge says. LorAnge began as a singer, songwriter, and musician. He says that he studied art by looking at the old masters and reading everything he could find on their methods.
