Fontenay was first published in Amazing Science Fiction Stories in March 1959. Charles L. Fontenay (1917-2007) was an American journalist and science fiction writer. His non-fiction includes the biography of prominent New Deal era politician Estes Kefauver. Fontenay served as editor of the Nashville Tennessean. He retired to St. Petersburg, Florida where he continued to write science fiction until shortly before his death.
