Ham Sandwich James H. Schmitz
It gets difficult to handle the problem of a man who has a real talent that you need badly—and he cannot use it if he knows it's honest! The Institute of Insight exists to instruct clients in the use of extrasensory perception. Most of these clients happen to be wealthy. Wallace Cavender doubts he'll learn anything remarkable at the institute until Dr. Ormond tells the class to visualize a ham sandwich.
James H. Schmitz was a popular science fiction writer of the 1960s. Most of his work was originally published in science fiction magazines and later anthologized or expanded into novels. Schmitz is probably best known for his novel The Witches of Karres
