Alex Horley - Orlandelli is an Italian illustrator who does work both in Italy and the United States. Horley is known for fantasy art, science fiction, horror paintings, and comic book art. He has worked on projects for Heavy Metal, Kaos Comics, DC Comics, and Marvel Comics, as well as the Harry Potter Collectible Card Games
Alex Horley was born as Alessandro Orlandelli in 1970 in the outskirts of Milan, Italy. He started to draw and read comics in kindergarten. While studying at art college, Horley painted fantasy illustrations and a cover for the monthly magazine Kaos.
In 1993, while in London, Horley met Dave Elliott, who was working on Monster Massacre and Blackball Comics. Elliott commissioned Horley to paint several pin-ups. After this, Horley collaborated on the Alba Nera project for Granata Press and worked on the Mutant Chronicles for Acclaim.

In 1995 Horley collaborated with the Shok Studio crew for which he painted covers for Egon, Morgue and Ragno. Egon was reprinted by Dark Horse and collected in paperback form by Marvel Italia in 1998.
DC's editor Dan Raspler signed Horley for two Lobo issues in 1995, the Lobo: Death & Taxes miniseries, a Spectre cover and the Batman Master Series bonus cards, later to be reprinted in hardcover format.
Elliott, who was in charge of the now defunct Penthouse Comix, commissioned Horley to do a painted three-part story and a pin-up. In 1998, Horley had three of his painted covers published by Vertigo in the miniseries Muktuk Wolfsbreath. He also worked on Terry Laban's Vertigo miniseries Battleaxes. Horley also illustrated an eight page Sharky story, featuring Julie Strain, for Kevin Eastman's illustrated fantasy magazine Heavy Metal.
